Why is there so much emphasis on how bad games #9, 10 & 11 are for another team? BYU gets dinged for North Alabama & Texas State. But these other teams aren't even playing the same number of games, so why does it matter what the very bottom of BYU's schedule looks like?
Every time a team plays there is both a risk of losing (even if remote), but also a risk of injury that could derail a season. BYU should simply get credit for playing those extra games, not dinged because they aren't against good opponents. When comparing SOS among teams, if a team has played fewer games the committee should be excluding the bottom of the other team's schedule from their SOS calculation.
