Tough to watch that, the picture of Troy and Austen in the SAB is memorable
I was at the father and son camp with my son and nephew, Austen was in the same group as my nephew and Troy held the door for me as we walked into the SAB as I was limping in and we had a brief conversation about my injury as I had gone hero mode trying to keep up with my son, and we talked about kid hopping as we both had multiple kids and were doing our best to spend equal amounts of time with them.

For the record, Austen was one of the best players in the age group, I thought my nephew would show well, but as I recall Austen won the free-throw contest for the group and did decent in the all age final, we were rooting for him as my nephew had made it to the last few players in the age group before Austen won, and he was one of the best players in practically every sport we played, you noticed that little blonde energy ball in the group.

Seeing the quote from elder Holland in the video reminded me that he spoke to us during the Sunday meeting, it was one of the best talks I have ever witnessed in person, and the next week after hearing about the accident my heart broke for the family, but I have thought many times, if I had to go through that same trial, I would want to spend my last week with my son at the BYU father and son camp.

A few years after the accident we had a similar accident in my ward, and I know Troy reached out to the father of the accident, I don’t know any details of their communication but I marvel that Troy has been able to turn such a terrible accident into a blessing for others, I don’t think I would be as strong enough under similar circumstances.
