The Athletic had an article about the entire situation. According to the article, the Washington AD reached out first to BYU on Sunday. BYU said they were very interested, but wanted to wait a couple of days. Washington said great, we feel like we need to make something happen sooner so we'll move on so they contacted SDSU. SDSU was flexible and willing to work with Washington and PAC-12 protocols. The schools put the contract together and the PAC-12 matched Utah v Washington after Utah's opponent cancelled so SDSU was out. When Colorado became available they easily changed the contract and set up Colorado and SDSU.
As much as you guys don't like it, you waited on taking the game which didn't work for Washington, but would have likely led to Colorado. Had you taken the game, chances are you would have played Colorado yesterday. Maybe it wasn't likely anyway because Kalani wanted to make sure that all the players got to go home for Thanksgiving. That seemed to be one of the excuses thrown around here.
