When I said it's not about gender or sports I was simply trying to further illustrate the insensitivity/stupidity of the Vandy kickers actions and comments. Some posters here, and a great many SM posts I've read, claim you're only bothered by her comments because of gender. I knew that that's not true at all. Had the Vandy kicker been a successful D1 male soccer athlete, with her same background (no fb/fb kicking experience & only w/ team 4 days), the team still would of been bothered by those criticisms. Because he hadn't done anything to earn the job, wasn't very good at the job, and hadn't invested any time/effort working with the team yet.

That's the irony, because the vandy kicker was a girl, she's allowed to be ineffective by the standard performance criteria, critical of her team, yet still be praised for her "contributions"??

But your point about gender is correct and makes her actions all the worse. Shes inept at her position and has done nothing team related to bond, prove herself yet.
