wow, agree to disagree, the romance was a nothing-burger and I felt

zero emotional connection to Hanks' character. 

The action sequences were fine technically, but again, very limited emotional impact. 

'1917,' on the other hand, was an emotional rollercoaster followed by a bunch of gut punches, with great technical execution and artistry. Great movie.
