What I have said is that Northwestern, who has only played six close games against fairly weak competition. Of those six games, they JUST lost to a 1-3 Michigan state game by two scores. And yet they're ranked almost the same as 9-0 BYU.
But for the sake of argument, how are you to know the BIG has a stronger schedule when they don't play outside their own conference? And I will argue all day long that winning 9 games against weaker competition is way more valuable than winning 5 against a "traditionally" stronger schedule. And then you throw in a 3 day old loss to a 1-3 Michigan state? They shouldn't be sniffing the rankings.
It's not just the traditional power teams that are getting way too much credit, but traditionally weak teams from their conferences. It's a conference corruption this points to.
