RE: College football isn't trying to avoid another BYU 2001, it's 1984 they are
Your way of thinking is the problem. You have bought into their way of thinking, hook line and sinker. As long as they keep hood winking people like yourself into believing their idea that if you don't play teams from one of the P5 then clearly you cannot be a good team. That is a perception lie. There is no way to know how good any one school is, or their schedule except to have them play one another head to head. This year is the perfect example of that. If the SEC only plays SEC teams, and FCS OOC games, they can perpetuate the belief that they are good based solely on people saying so. I am not saying that teams from the SEC are not good, I am merely stating that our college football ranking and cfp system is largely based on perception and not on what team is actually good.

If you want to know if Cincy has only played chumps this year, then expand the playoffs, and let them play a "perceived" good team and we will find out. Anyone who has played sports and loves to compete would never have a problem with showing it on the field. Too bad the people who make the decisions care more about money and power than they do about the actual sports they are controlling.
