the most important and legitimate point. The major P5 schools most certainly aren't dumb enough to miss the fact that if they could dump the dead weight in their conferences, their already handsome paydays would likely increase significantly.
I'm still a believer that the next big move for CFB is a contraction of the P5's, not a pipe dream expansion of a few more teams or a conference. It doesn't make sense for a monopoly to give money to more teams which decrease their piece of the pie. And this gives the cartel, that the P5 is, all the top cover needed to drop the schools reliant on them for their conference-subsidized paydays, like a hot rock.
My concern is that this, once again, puts BYU in a very precarious position. Maybe good, maybe not.
