St George was a place that I stopped for gas on my way to Vegas or LA. I had only stayed there overnight for a missionary farewell, wedding and funeral.

But last year, after 2 months of covid isolation, I decided to venture out of town for some warm weather. I work 9's and get every other Friday off. And I had joined a weekly singles hiking group and was new to hiking, but thought I'd try a weekend in St George for some hiking and pool time.

I ended up having an awesome time, and found that I loved the area. Over the next few months, I spent a lot of weekends in St George and even ventured down to Kanab and other places for hiking trips. I'd definitely consider getting a retirement place in St George.
