I am not sure how much pre-work goes into basketball games. I am guessing the practices and team prep for a given game only begin once the previous game is over. So in that sense, each team has had "normal" prep time. Should be minimal impact to the players.
But I assume the teams have someone putting together film further in advance. So if this was an unplanned opponent, then perhaps both teams would be missing the pre-work normally done. But since we would be playing later anyway, was some of that already done? So maybe the team that had done the most pre work before the announcement has an advantge?
On the other hand, if a short-notice game does change things up significantly (don't think so), then I would think that favors the underdog...especially since I think there are more unknowns (rotations, roles, etc.) with BYU in this case.
