Why IT?

It’s a career where everything takes 5 times longer than it should and everyone hates you? Why go into that kind of profession? 🙂

I'd go into neuroscience. Right now I make tax software (well technically the programmers actually create the software).

I got my degree in Design Engineering, but spent almost all of my 40 year career working in IT. Definitely recommend IT.

Because it's technically challenging, always changing - and pays really, really well. Plus so many jobs are available
