Interestingly enough, though I've wanted to live in SD my whole life, I've never
actually lived there. I grew up in St. George, and Bruce Hurst was from there (I went to high school with his nephew), and that's why I'm a Padres fan (he signed with the Padres the year I started getting into baseball).
I've been a Padres fan all my life, and so everyone thinks I'm from San Diego, but I'm not. Just one of the few diehard Padre fans who didn't grow up there.
I've been there a few times, though. Been to both Qualcomm/Jack Murphy and PETCO.

I'm really sorry to hear that. My dad sounds a LOT like your dad. Where was he living? You live in San Diego now, right?
