He was kicked off the team in the middle of the 2015 season and kicked out of school for all of 2016. That was the 2nd time he had been in trouble at BYU. Both BYU and Sitake agreed he could come back in January 2017 under certain conditions.
While he was waiting to get back into BYU, he straightened out his life and got married in the temple in June 2016. He credits his wife for helping him get his life in order.
He switched position his senior season and got more tackles in one season than the rest of his career combined. He then was drafted by the Browns, but only started one game as a rookie and has 12 starts this season. Takitaki even playing yesterday was a culmination of a lot of good choices over a number of years.
