index funds, the stocks on those indices are automatically juiced by their inclusion, the funds then continue to go up and it is self-reinforcing.

Not sure if there is a way out of it- successful companies' stocks that aren't included, will eventually be added (i.e. Tesla recently) so the margin for 'beating the system' is fairly marginal and short in scope.
