I think it just feels like less since Utah has stepped it up
KS has 5 4-star recruits in 5 years (+2 via transfer)
Utah got 3 in 2019, 4 in 2020, 3 in 2021. Plus a bunch of transfers.
Just in the last few weeks they've added 3 more 4-star transfers (TJ Pledger, JaQuinden Jackson, Chris Curry). That means Utah has added 6 in the last month, whereas BYU has 7 in 5 years. It's not worse than we were doing, but it feels like we're falling further behind Utah.
Based on the list of BYU results and what we've seen at Utah (Bentley anyone?) it's clear that being a 4-star doesn't automatically guarantee success, but the more bites you can take at that apple, the more likely you are to hit on one.
