are on hold and we have no idea when it will change. So we're hoping to be able to send them to Provo this spring/summer for camps. Two different questions below:
1. For those who may have some insight into BYU camps, is there anything you can tell me other than what is posted on the website: "We are working towards having sports camps during the 2021 Spring/Summer season but nothing is definitive yet." I realize that is probably exactly the situation at hand, and exactly the message I would probably post if I were in charge of the camps . . . but wondering what situations might need to happen in order for camps to run.
2. For youth FOOTBALL camp: My 12 year old hasn't played tackle football yet. We had decided to let him play tackle this year and his league's fall season was delayed and was going to start in January, then got completely cancelled. He's a great athlete and has done very well in track and flag football — but that's not the same as getting drilled in the ribs when you're going across the middle. What are your thoughts on having a kid's first experience in pads be at a BYU camp? I think he'll adjust pretty quickly but you never know. Interested in your thoughts.
