He was a bit of a ladies’ man from the Catholic school in Stockton called St Mary’s. Everyone said what a db he was.
We were both juniors going up against each other for the first time at the varsity level. He stole the ball on the other side of the floor and dribbled for a wide open lay up. Somehow I caught him from behind and blocked his shot off the glass. Fun play for me, not for him
In handshakes after the game I was anticipated some animosity or at least a sneer. Instead he complimented my play. It was an early lesson for me to not judge people by what negative things others might say.
Brian must have married a tall woman because he and I were about the same height 6’ or so. But his son is much taller.
His son apparently transferred from Boston College. Looking forward to seeing him play. I don’t know if he gets minutes or not.
