Done it many times. Never had a problem.

I have not done it since Covid. I buy insurance online before I go. It's easiest and cheapest that way. It is pretty on the AZ side. It gets ugly as soon as you cross the border. We always stop at a taco stand in the middle of Sonoyta for some good tacos.
