Predictive metrics are low on BYU—but they have a top 25 resume right now.
Almost the opposite from last year where BYU was #9 in Net, #13 in KenPom yet only going to be a 5-6 seed due to so many close losses.
Right now he is weighting predictions more heavily and several will undervalue BYU due to so preseason expectations baked in and BYU having so few returning minutes.
SOR/KPI have a higher correlation to selection and seeding and BYU is in the top 25 in both. They would be a single digit seed based on the results so far if selection Sunday was today.
