Some think just assigning a blocker is all that needs to be done. Understandings it’s easier to block at angles than straight ahead and zone blocking is better than assigned etc.
I don’t know if Grimes influenced it but I felt skill position player were much more aware of how to set up blocks than in times past. They would start inside and then bounce out or fly out and then cutback inside more. I can tell you that helps so much to get your position on the defender if the blocking scheme is right.
