Thinking of Apple Watch to replace my Fitbit Ionic. What does Google's purchase
of Fitbit portend for their line of wearables? There are a lot of things I like about my Ionic (its a great Fitness tracker, it has a MUCH longer battery life — meaning I can wear at night to track sleep more often without charging) but it is horrible at playing music and podcasts, which I expect the Apple Watch to be much better at.

Probably no changes will be near term enough to justify waiting (if I prefer the current Apple Watch over the current Ionic, I'll buy it), but do you think Google will help Fitbit iron out some of the glitchier firmware aspects of their devices over time? Could Fitbit catch up to Apple in the areas where it currently lags, and still keep its edge in things like battery life? Curious as to what you've heard and what you think.
