Seven years at my last employer, one 4.5% raise in year three.

I don't think it was a question of whether my employer was satisfied with my work. I survived multiple company and project team layoffs. The company had 85k employees when I started there and about 35k now. Finally took an "early retirement" offer (at age 67) in 2019 with one year severance, and five years full medical & dental coverage for all dependents (or until Medicare qualified, whichever came first).

Was working for an equipment supplier in the oil patch.
