It was a turning point for the Texas program. Seeing that proud Texas defense
chopped up and left bewildered by BYU caused a lot of people to sit up and think "hey, we've got a big problem with the program going on here." This sentiment was strong enough that they let Mack Brown go. When we did it again the following year in Austin with Charlie Strong they realized "hey, this isn't a simple coaching problem, we're going to have to rebuild this program." So yeah, it was good deal for us because folks in Texas remember BYU now.
