The further Sanderson gets away from grounded characters and settings, the less
enjoyable they get. I was way less invested in the latest book with Superman flying around hundreds of major baddies than I was with a lone boy trying to piece together a beaten up slave group.
The duel in the middle of Act 2 held way more tension than all the Avengers stuff happening in the last 2 books IMO.
