I know it's not the mountains, but, you can get lift passes for $30-40. The night skiing is easy. And you can get some runs in on your lunch break and be back to work very easily. I remember having some of my funniest memories on the hills in MN before I moved out west, fought the traffic, and paid the expensive lift prices to live "the dream".
