That reminds me of when me and my dad were driving somewhere during my formative
Years.

We aren’t super talkative folks firstly and add in an angsty 15 YO son. so my dad turns on the radio while we are driving.

Immediately, an ED commercial came on the radio, felt like 4 hours but was probably , in reality, like 1 min.

The ad ends... finally. And I, naively, thought we were out of the woods and on our way into enjoying some good tunes when, boom, the song sexyback by Justin Timberlake turns on the radio lol. “I’m bringing sexy back, and I don’t know how to act... Ow!”. I didn’t know how to act and didn’t know who was bringing sexy back...

About half way through the song, with no acknowledgement of the awkwardness. He just turned off the radio. I was thankful. Momentarily but He didn’t turn on another station, or acknowledge the elephant in the room. we just sat is silence for like 15 minutes haha.

It was very awkward ha.

So it’s Probably best to acknowledge the awkward with your son.... or don’t and revel in the awkwardness and give him a story to tell to his internet friends later in life.
