I agree, there is no pattern of repeatablity for a little blind luck. Anyone who really makes money in the stock market

will tell you that it's about research, research, research, and then making emotionless decisions about when to sell or buy.

For instance in one book I read, the guys says that unless the stock is something you are looking at for long term growth, then sell it if it drops by more than 7%, don't think it will get better, get out.
