I would guess that Harlan is going to want to pay the next coach much less than Coach Krystko made. I don't think basketball is the money generator for the U that it has been in the past. The U does not fill their arena and even now permanently lowered it to 8k seats or something?
The U basketball has the unfortunate drawback now that the Jazz are so popular, so the U is at best the #2 team in town. the Jazz are so popular that the U is in a real shadow to them down the street.
Harlan can find some one he is pretty happy with for a half or a third of Coach Krystko's salary. Its a waste for Harlan to pay a top 20 coach's salary when the men's basketball team/program no longer carries the revenue generation potential that it once did. Harlan is going to be careful about throwing around money.
