Been to Puerto Rico and buddy just went there as well. He said el yunque was
Closed right now.

We basically traveled from playa isla verde to cueva del indio visiting various beaches. We also took a catamaran to culebrita.

If you’re looking for relaxing beaches and minimal crowds, culebra/culebrita would be the spot. Probably my favorite thing we did. You can fly, take a boat, or ferry. I think the ferry is only for residents right now.

Old San Juan was also cool. You can spend a couple hours walking around. Old churches, the fort and just walking along the coast. Good restaurants too.

We stayed at playa isla verde and it was fine. Cueva del indio was fun to walk on really liked exploring there.

Visited mar chiquita which was unique but it is lots of reef so if you like swimming around it may not be the best.

Best surfing is in rincon. Didn’t go there tho. Surfed a little at playa isla verde but it wasn’t great.

One cool thing we did was go to charco azul or cuevas arenales. It was pretty fun but sketchy to get there and you just park on a random farm and walk down. Did a lot of research before hand on how to get down there. Because it had Rained the water was brown and not blue. I went with some locals but would have been a little sketched out if I hadn’t for some reason.

I recommend PR. It won’t be your favorite vacation but for the cost/ restrictions right now it’s a good spot. You can also visit random waterfalls.
