RE: Best places to stay in Orlando with family of six that’s not overly
A lot depends on when you are planning on going and what your game plan is for when you are in Orlando.

For example, if you are going in high season and planning on going to theme parks all day every day, I would opt for something like a Hyatt Place. I'd compare cash vs points rates and go from there.

One option that a lot of people don't realize is that there are dozens of timeshares in Orlando and it's way too built out. For example, there are SEVEN different Marriott branded timeshares in Orlando.

If you know someone that has a timeshare you can:

A) If they aren't using their week see if they can exchange. Some people are just excited not to see yet another week go to waste.
B) If they have access to an exchange company like Interval International or RCI, you can often book week long stays in cash.

We go to Orlando a couple of times a year and usually use the second option. Weeks during the offseason in a 2 bedroom Marriott like Grande Vista will run anywhere from 300-550 in the offseason for a 2 bedroom that comfortably sleeps 8.

My brother booked his fall break in a 3 bedroom for $397 at Marriott Grande Vista and his kids loved it.
