As far as their final WCC standings. It's weird to have a computer deciding everything and not just wins and losses.
The updated rankings are out and they have...
#3 SMC - .590 (4-5)
#4 Pepperdine - .575 (6-6)
#5 LMU - .559 (7-4)
Hopefully BYU will take care of business with St Mary's. Obviously if BYU loses, this is all irrelevant.
I expect Pepperdine to beat USD but that won't help their score. The best thing for Pepperdine is they are the only one of the three favored to win but a win over USD may not help much.
LMU will get a scheduling boost from their quality loss to Gonzaga. At times teams scores have actually gone up after losing at Gonzaga. The Lions will have the most wins and fewest losses but also have the easiest schedule.
I am very curious how the final numbers will work out. If BYU wins will they be stuck playing SMC again regardless of the other games? Can LMU lose to Gonzaga and climb up to #3?
I really struggle to see BYU beating SMC three times this year (or any year).
