I don’t mind wearing a retainer at night for a long time, I was just hoping to
avoid braces. He did say that to fix the gap, the teeth would have to be pushed backward, but that there isn’t much space in my bite between my top and bottom teeth. I don’t know how that happened considering 7 months ago, all my teeth and bite were in perfect (at least I thought) alignment. Creating more space in the bite was his reasoning for the rubber bands. Is that by itself enough to necessitate braces? And for that long?
