I would get a second opinion. They are almost always free. It can’t hurt. I doubt you are being scammed though. You may think your teeth were fine before but what the orthodontist is describing sounds very much like a bite problem you likely didn't know you had. However just because your bite isn’t perfect doesn’t mean that you have to fix that. In most cases if you just have a small gap that you want fixed that is an easy thing to do with Invisalign. Sometimes orthodontist refuse to just treat the problems patients are concerned about and leave other problems alone. They will only treat you if you are willing to fix everything. I think this is wrong. As long as the orthodontist provides a clear explanation of the issues that could occur due to leaving a problem unresolved I don’t see an issue if the patients doesn’t want those things fixed.

Go to an orthodonTIST not a dentist who does orthodoTICS. There can be a big difference.
