writing skills and then what they actually put out is pure garbage. Yet, they are so proud of this garbage. This is where you say "I'm just going to review this for punctuation, and typos," and then stealth edit/fix all the problems and hope they don't notice upon final review. In my experience they usually just think that the fixes aka good writing was what they wrote originally, thus reinforcing their belief that they are an amazing writer. It's a vicious cycle.
