It certainly is possible to say the least, but to say that Utah (the team that BYU hasn't beaten in 4117 days) would have had ZERO chance of beating BYU is just silly hyperbole. Nobody truly believes that, and nobody would have believed that had they played at any point last year.

The unfortunate reality is that nobody really knows how good BYU would have been last year had they played a not terrible schedule. They played one legit top 25 team, and they lost. They played a whole host of mediocre to bad teams, and they won.
