That’s an excuse. Plenty of willing people- look at people running
The chain crews on sidelines during football games. Volunteers. Plenty of soph coaches, administrators etc. not to mention scorekeepers.
At worst they could go from a 3 team ref crew which is bad to a 2 person crew and let the extra ref run it. Three refs, you get one that thinks he is saving the world and calls every bad foul (both ways ) and kills the game. 2 person crews are much better.
