The trouble with being so certain is that things can change
I won't say that will happen this time, but it can happen.

For example, years ago I interviewed for a job and accepted it. One of my friends worked for the company and I liked the idea of working with him. A couple of days before what should have been my start date, my current employer offered me a large pay increase to stay.

So, of course I had told my friend I'd be working with him. If he told anyone ese, would he be considered a liar when it didn't happen? Well, around CB he probably would have because that's how it works.

Regardless, even if the source is the kid himself, it shouldn't be considered certain until it actually happens. Circumstances aren't static.
