They criticized Ross for his extra-curriculars with Knell... they thought he started it and needed to cool down and thought Romar did the right thing in having him sit on the bench for a minute. They heavily criticized him for complaining to the refs so much, for letting his emotions get in the way. They called him out for flopping twice. They particularly called him out repeatedly for not having any assists until half-way through the second half despite shooting so poorly. Then during BYU's big comeback around the 6-minute mark, Ross turned the ball over on two straight charges and they blasted him, then again when he was called for a charge in OT.
They were laudatory of Ross in the first five minutes as a way of hyping up one of the team's best players, which is completely normal. Then he hit some big shots down the stretch, dude competed hard, and was the reason Pepperdine was in the position that they were, so they again were praising him. But overall, I thought they criticized him a heck of a lot more than they praised him.
You hear what you want to hear.
