I luckily bought mine the week before everything went crazy last March. I'm
very happy I did. The plan was always to use it with the grandkids, I didn't relish the thought of a tent and a hole in the woods with a 3yr old.

I'd NEVER buy an RV off a lot, the depreciation is astronomical. I paid $20k for a 36' 2018 model that had been used 5 times (he paid close to $40k). I also have empty warehouse space to put it inside, and for that amount of money it doesn't scream at me to use it every weekend. We used it 3 times during 2020, it was wonderful in every way for my wife and I and the older grandkids to get away and do something different while we were locked down. (All my kids and grandkids lived within 100 yards of me for most of last year, so our family was our own bubble)

The RV industry exploded last year, the demand far outpaced supply, and prices shot up. I'm certain I could get $25,000 for my rig today. But wait a couple of years, there will be MANY very lightly used RVs on the market as people realize that they take effort, they break down, you have to pay to store them and the RV locations aren't what they see on Instagram. Also, due to the demand, already low quality manufacturing got even worse. I'd be wary of a rig built in 2020 or 2021. I've already seen many situations that are entirely unacceptable on a brand new RV.

Just last week my wife said "I sure miss our trailer trips". I was glad to hear it. Now we just have to gather the grandkids back, they wisely left CA for normal states.
