When we rebook we can go anyway just one leg has to use the same airline. We also have to travel with the same passengers. However, if I book a much cheaper flight, does the residual just go back into my account as points (doesn't need to be the same people or used by certain time)? I wasn't clear on that so seeing if anyone has experience with it.

The email simply says:
If new fare is lower than original, residual can be used for future travel credit.
