propel very much. I also have a very flat yard though. I highly recommend the mower. Had it over 3 years without any problems and the battery still holds a great charge. My yard is about 1/4 acre almost entirely covered in grass. Never had the battery die before finishing the mow.

If you have a lot of incline in your yard, consider the self propel. But if not, you really won’t need it.
