Some dude did a study on how many times quarterbacks get hit, and in the 2008 season David Gerard led the NFL and was hit 85 times in 16 games. The lowest was Carson Palmer who was hit 32 times. I'm not great at math, but I'm pretty sure that's a lot less than 40 times a game.

In general an offense runs about 60 to 70 plays per game total. You're suggesting Taysom got hit roughly 2/3 of the time the ball was snapped.

And in the NFL Taysom has been getting hit by NFL players. And while I'm not going to do it, because what's the point, but I could find a thousand Links of players talking about how severe the jump in competition is between college and the nfl.
