I think a large portion of the inventory shortage is also sellers that don't

want to be buyers. It's like musical chairs, if you don't even get up when the music starts, you're guaranteed a chair.

The normal movements up and down the real estate market aren't happening. Although people want to sell and realize their equity gains, becoming a buyer having to pay tens of thousands over asking is not at all appealing.
