We've always been satisfied with the experience. We've also stayed a couple of times at a hotel on the south side called "The Esther Lee". It's not fancy, but it's clean, they have suites with separate Living Room/Kitchen/Bedroom areas which is nice for extended stays, and most importantly it has direct beach access.

I've preferred the cabins, but if price is a consideration, the Esther Lee is probably $2-3 hundred bucks cheaper for a 3-night stay.
