I love baseball and grew up watching it on a regular basis with WGN, TBS and game of the week as mainstays....
The game has lost generation(s) of fans for a number of reasons. It's too bad, because it is really a great game.
I could have rattled off 20-30 teams in that period of time just moving from East to West or West to East. The teams just aren't on many people's radar anymore.
