the size of the opening in the countertop or the size of the flange? I want to swap my dual sink out for a single sink, but am having a rough time finding the answer online. I plan to undermount it to my granite countertop, if that matters.

It would make sense either way, I suppose. Maybe the flange measurement is more important, though, since you can't add more depth to a cabinet. TIA.
