It's a matter of contract values

RB contracts are skewed so low that taking one in the first round, especially early in the first, provides no possibility of excess value. As good as Saquon was, he was immediately one of the higher paid RBs in the league and didn't provide a lot of value above that.

Paying an RB $8M/yr is a lot different than paying a QB $8M

I’d rather they took a WR or offensive lineman. Drafting RBs in the 1st round is a bad strategy

Outside of Derrick Henry, there's not a RB the past 5 yrs who warrants a first round pick.
