My default position has been that guys should stick around and wait their turn, and that this process of working and waiting produces benefits for both the players and the team. It seems that the increased use of the transfer portal might interrupt this flow and guys might leave prematurely, when if they would just stick it out they might get their chance later. But that is probably true only for some guys — others are never going to get the chance they want at their current schools.
