My SIL was looking at apartments once in WVC. These were down by the TRAX station, which is a decently nice area. My MIL forbade her from moving there because "WVC has too much violent crime." Her source for this was "Well, look at the ethnicity data for the city...."

Sure, if you live in some parts of WVC over by Taylorsville or Kearns, it's rougher. But if you're over by 5600 W or something, WVC is decently nice.
