Sorry man. Accidents happen all the time despite great parents. If it's any comfort, I treat this problem every day
and I haven't lost a kid in 15 years of allergy practice. Not even close. Kids have enormous cardiopulmonary reserve. And epi works.

The kids I worry about are the undiagnosed kids. Our toughest cases are the kid whose parents aren't on the ball, no diagnosis, anaphylaxis in the field and no epi available. They survive, but it's ugly.

As others have commented above, your kid has a shot at not being allergic in the future. Things are evolving with peanut allergy. It's an exciting time.
